Frequently Asked Questions;

Don’t be afraid, we can make the migration from any phone system a breeze. I have ISDN – how do I change to SIP? Once your system is ready we ‘port’ your number into the new system and onto SIP. You can do a same day switch on the port or we can supply migration boxes, that for the period of the migration, sit between your existing system and the ISDN lines.  They allow us to help with staged migrations and, as a bonus, this makes the number port non-disruptive when it goes through. It will allow us to work with old phone systems which do not understand modern telephony protocols. What do I need? In order to do full hybrid cloud you need a business quality Internet connection which is backed by an appropriate service level agreement. A suitable internal network capable of VoIP and preferably a PoE (Power over Ethernet) switch to power the handsets. Appropriate training and / or a partner to get you up and running. I have old wiring or none at all. You need to have Cat5 Ethernet cables installed for most desk phones, if you only have old analogue cables then we would recommend a re- install. Alternatively you could look towards DECT cordless handsets or WiFi models but some features and quality may be missing. A decent network is a very strong pre-requisite for a good quality system and deployment. I know what I am doing Then there is nothing stopping you from doing it, but you will still require to attend a training and certification course in order to obtain technical support and assistance from IC. The purpose of the course is to ensure best practices are taught and also that you are capable of delivering 1st line support to the business directly. I have no Internet at some locations. No problem, we have on premise boxes available.  As Internet becomes available at the site, the options are to keep the local system and integrate it with the main system or just migrate the handsets  to the main system at that time. I’m in a long term contract – will you buy it out for me? Sorry but given the level of value that you get with IC-Talk then that is something that we don’t usually do. Why rent the handsets We have sourced a very comprehensive deal to allow the upfront capital to be greatly reduced by including certain handsets into the monthly pricing models. In many cases it would take a number of years increased rentals to pay the equivalent of the outright purchase. The big benefit however is that you are covered for failures under an extended warranty during of the rental.

Technical Support

Support is available to nominated individuals who have completed the training course and is accessed via the myIC

portal for those with a valid support contract.
